ORCID: Advanced Session

Thursday, March 13, 2025, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Online, Faculty members, Graduate students, Post-docs and research staff, Scholarly communication,

Registration is required.

Learn to make the most of your ORCID profile in this ORCID: Advanced Session workshop! Topics to be covered include:

  • How to use embedded features (like Search & link wizards, automatic updates, et cetera) to reduce the administrative burden of updating your profile
  • ORCID's concept of Trust Markers, such as verified email domains and advanced information that can only be added to your profile by trusted parties
  • Newer or in progress ORCID developments, such as the project to expand work type vocabularies

You will have the opportunity during this session to try out these more advanced features. As a bonus, this session will also give a brief overview on ORCID integrations: what they are, their role in ORCID's mission, etc.

This session is best suited to those who are familiar with ORCID as a tool of scholarly communication, who have a profile, and who have populated it with some information. This includes those who attended the ORCID: Beginner's Session offered by Leddy Library in February, as well as graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and faculty.

For more information about this session, please email Amelia.Ritchie@uwindsor.ca

There will be a question and answer period in this workshop. If you would like to ask questions in advance to ensure they are covered, please fill out this Microsoft Form.

While by no means required, you may be interested in viewing the Leddy Library's ORCID Help Guide.
